Data Engineer - Snowflake & Matillion Job Summary We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer with 10+ years of industry experience, including deep expertise in Snowflake and Matillion, to lead the development and optimization of our data platform. You will be responsible for architecting scalable data solutions, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring high data quality and performance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex ETL/ELT pipelines using Matillion, integrating diverse data sources into Snowflake.
• Architect and manage Snowflake data warehouse environments including performance tuning, workload management, data modeling, and access control.
• Define and enforce best practices for data engineering including coding standards, version control, and CI/CD automation.
• Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, and Business Stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical data solutions.
• Oversee data governance, data quality, and metadata management to ensure accurate and reliable datasets.
• Perform advanced SQL optimization, stored procedure development, and automation using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering technical growth and best practices.
• Stay current with emerging data technologies and evaluate new tools for potential adoption.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related roles, with a strong focus on cloud data platforms.
• Expertise in Snowflake architecture, including performance tuning, security policies, and resource management.
• Strong experience with Matillion ETL, including job orchestration, error handling, and data transformations.
• Solid programming skills in SQL and Python (or equivalent scripting languages).
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, EC2, IAM, and Glue.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, including dimensional modeling, normalization, and data lake principles.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Proven track record of working in enterprise-level environments and handling large-scale datasets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in Snowflake and/or Matillion.
• Experience with data cataloging and governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
• Exposure to real-time data streaming tools like Kafka or Kinesis.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
• Previous experience leading cross-functional data projects.
