Brief DescriptionWe are looking for a highly motivated and technically skilled Linux Server Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing and maintaining our SMS platform infrastructure. This position requires strong experience in Linux server administration and troubleshooting, with a focus on SMPP and SMS gateway technologies.
Job Responsibilities:
· Provide ongoing support and maintenance for Linux servers and SMS platform infrastructure. · Manage and troubleshoot SMPP protocol and SMS Gateway (e.g., Kannel) systems. · Optimize server performance and ensure system uptime. · Work with CentOS, Apache, MySQL, and associated server technologies. · Troubleshoot network issues involving routers, switches, DNS, and firewalls (hardware and software). · Write and maintain shell scripts for automation and routine tasks. · Ensure platform security, apply patches and perform regular updates. · Configure and manage HTTP & proxy-based load balancing for high-traffic environments. · Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and vendors for issue resolution and performance improvement. · Be available for critical remote support during off-hours/holidays, if required. · Strong knowledge of CentOS, Linux Server Administration, and MySQL Database Management · Experience working with SMPP protocol and Kannel SMS Gateway · Proficiency in Apache, Web Services, and HTTP connectivity · Understanding of caching mechanisms, virtualization, and monitoring tools · Knowledge of DNS, networking basics, firewalls, and load balancing · Hands-on experience with Shell Scripting · Red Hat Certification is a must
Preferred Qualifications:
· Minimum 1+ year of professional experience in Linux server administration · Experience implementing backup strategies – full system backups, critical DB hourly backups, and mirroring to remote servers · Ability to identify and mitigate security threats including phishing and DoS attacks · Experience with automation of server management tasks · Familiarity with identifying and mitigating performance bottlenecks or rogue code in collaboration with development teams
